The Once a Month Garage Sale Is Here!!!!

This is the first of several once a month garage sales that Margo and I will be doing during the summer. If there is anything you are interested in just email me and I will let you know how much the shipping is and we can work out the details.

Happy Shopping!

Some old decorative pieces from a piece of furniture that couldn't be saved. There are 6 pieces total. The price is $7

This is an old round frame, it is a smaller size, which is approximately 9" x 12". There is no glass just the frame. There are some chips in the paint but the frame itself is in tack.

The price is $9.00 SOLD

This is some type of old gauge. It says Sioux City, Iowa on it. I love gauges, this one is priced at $8.00

One of those pokey things that hung on the wall to keep track of the receipts for the day in an old general store. The price is $7.00.

Here are some old consumer stamps, you use to save them and fill up a book then you could cash in the books for merchandise. We need some of these now, with our grocery bill, we could save tons of stamps. Th price for all three books is $4.00

This is a thingy-ma-jig. Not really sure what it was but I bet it can be something else now. Let your creative juices flow. Maybe part of an old lamp? It is approximately 9" tall and the price is $5.00.

This is one of those cool old metal jewelry boxes. It use to have velvet lining but that is gone but the embossing on the outside is still beautiful.

The hinge has a wire through it instead of a rod but it works just as well.

Isn't it pretty, would look great in someones collection. It has a great patina too, love that turq color. The price is $8.00.

A set of four planter plates, these are small one though, the diameter of these is only 5" across. Another great re purpose project. The price is $5.00 for all.

A donkey and wagon pottery vase. It is great shape, no chips or cracks. The price is $7.00.

Finally, the "D" for done, or dikkering, or delighted or anything else you can think of. The letter is about 5" deep, 8" wide and 12" tall. The price of the "D" is $10.00.

That's the garage sale for this month. Thanks for checking it out and have a great weekend!
Don't' forget to go over to Margo's blog and check out her garage sale items this weekend too.

Harms Antiques Way

I discovered another place on my way to my class reunion on Saturday. Harms Antique Way... they have been in business for over 10 years, both Alan and Sally have full-time regular jobs, but also run this antique business on the side.

They have the cutest little store front on Main Street of Wisner, Nebraska. There were three things sitting in front of the shop that made me turn around. I will show you what they were at the end of this story.....

They have nice furniture as you enter the shop, but don't let this deter you from what in the next three rooms, upstairs and downstairs.

Meet Sally, she is the co-owner of Harms Antique Way. She was very helpful and friendly too.

We found this dummy riding his bike on the table, we named him Lewis, don't you think he looks like a Lewis?

This is one of the other rooms full of junk.......

I loved this cupboard, I was driving my car that day, so may have to return with the truck to pick this up.

Wow, even more....!!!

Another room full of junk....let me tell you there is anything from A to Z here...

Here is the first thing that made me turn around......

the second thing........

And the third, this is the sweetest little wagon, just had to have it.

They all fit in the trunk of my car and off we went to discover the next junk store.

Harms Antique Way is open by appointment only for now. There son is returning for the summer and will be operating the shop next week. The phone number is 402-529-3306 if you would like to check their hours before heading out. I give this shop a "10", prices were reasonable, merchandise organized, and friendly people. I definitely will be stopping again soon.

Memorial Day

In Memory of my dad, whom I miss dearly.... this cemetery was started by the German immigrants who had settled in this area, which is just north of Omaha, Nebraska. It is where all of my ancestors are buried.....

My father......

My grandfather.....

My grandmother, both of whom are my dad's parents.......

My great-grandparents, whom are my dad's dad's parents......

I have watched this angel since I was a child going to the cemetery on Memorial Day, isn't she beautiful, she guards everyone there.

A Peek At Some of the Junk From the Lynch Sale......

Some of you wanted to see what was in some of the boxes from the auction, so here is a portion, there are so many things that I couldn't photograph every item but this should give a good idea!

Horse shoes....
Two more padlocks for my collection.....

A cool old chippy chair, perfect to put a plant in for your garden.....

A long wooden box, about 4 ft long, good for going down the center of a table, and a small square box.....

An old Vagabond cooler, the outside is a little rusty but the inside is galvanized and perfect, another item good for containing flowers....

Five old wire baskets, love these....

A chandelier.....

Sears and Roebuck skates......

Odds and ends.......

A kids plastic red telephone.....

Two old lamps....

Double decker grocery cart with both baskets!!!!!!

Metal water sprinklers, these would be cute for risers for plates.....

Two ornate pieces of sterling, one says "Our Darling" and the other "At Rest", not sure what they are from, maybe a photo album cover?

Handkerchief boxes, these are the boxes they would come in when you bought them.....

I asked to buy this from a guy who bought a table full of things for $2, he said I could have it, now wasn't that nice......

Chain for some kind of project.....

Seashells.......

An old picture and frame........

Old Christmas cards....

Old Christmas tags........

The cool boxes they came in......

Silver stuff.........

A nice old serving tray, Margo just used one of these in her bedroom redo on the bed.......

White vases........

Old light fixture.......

The cart again without the baskets......

A garden gate........

Very cute little wooden bed......

Birdcage with a musical note door.....

Jars with white lids........

More jars with red lids, and I still have 6 boxes of jars to go through and wash. That was the bargain of the day. I got 15 boxes of jars for $2, now all I have to do is wash them.

All in all the day was a hit, the pickup was full, and the scenery was beautiful. Hope you enjoy the photos.
