Part One ~ The Porch and Yard ~Bachman's Summer Idea House

We made our voyage to Minneapolis to see the new Summer Ideas House at Bachman's, it was well worth the trip, we spent three hours taking in all the great ideas and boy were there a ton of ideas, there are so many ideas that I will be having a few PARTS to this post about the Ideas House, so on we go with Part One!

These are old hayloft forks used to lift the bails into the loft of a barn now used to display your hanging baskets of flowers along the sidewalk.......

Old mailboxes greet you as you enter the porch of the house filled with geraniums and umbrellas, it was raining while we were there......

This old ice box is now a plant stand box on top and shoe storage cubby on the bottom, look at the great patina on this old vintage piece.....

The ferns hung above the mailboxes and were placed in these old cream separator sieves and hung with wire, what a great idea!

The porch was full of artist's brushes, old oil paintings, and supplies for an artist to get inspired using the porch area as a mini studio.....

Check out the old hose reel turned table for signing the guest book, the old hose is even still on it, too cute!

Ki's signature wire fence chandelier with small insulators attached to add small bunches of flowers for that added touch of color...

Now some of the outside stuff that was in the backyard that included an ice cream social, family reunion, potting shed, and the outdoor living space in the garage. These are old barn cupolas with a stand so they can be displayed in your garden area....

An old galvanized roof topper turned mirror for the outside wall of the potting shed....

Minnow buckets for containing potted plants and decorating the tables in the yard.....

Old gears and machinery parts made into yard stakes to accent your flower beds......

This fabulous vintage metal glider, this is a one in a million find......

The flowers at the Ideas House are a stand alone feature in itself, everything is just fabulous when it comes to the floral, which you can of course just walk across the parking lot to find all the combinations of garden plants you could ever dream of....

Check back for the next post about the living room space in the house, there are some great things in store for you to see!

JUNKING ~ 911

After finding Clint's place, I confirmed that this was a junking emergency! Sooooo, I called in some of the experts, Ki, Larry, Jane and Sara, some of my junking friends from the twin cities. There was far too much stuff here to just leave behind, so I called in the reserve junkers to come and help me salvage some MORE junk that I was unable to haul home to my stash.

Ki, the junk expert, anaylzing a found object that could certainly be turned into some fabulous new idea$(*!^@(*&^

Humm, what could we do with these?

Larry found something he thought could make a good hallway coat rack...

Another shot of ONE corner of Clint's.....

Here is Jane with one of her favorite finds, a giant megaphone in this wonderful red color, it definitely went home with her to her stash......

Sara with one of her finds just as it went into the truck.....

Jane, Clint and Sara, three of the most loveable junkers you could find in the Midwest!

There were many items that were bought at Clint's that will become projects for either Bachman's stores or the Idea House in Minneapolis, so keep you eyes open, see if you can find them as you visit both of these places. Let me know if you find any!
