Watch Out It's A Stampead!!!!

Look what I found yesterday! Some great horses for the Bonanza just sitting there awaiting my keen senses to find them amongst the clutter of a fellow junker friend of mine....

The story is that he used to have 47 of them, he had bought from an older gentleman who had collected them his whole life, he was down sizing, and sold his collection to my friend. Now, seven lucky people get to share this elderly gentleman's love of the horse clock by taking one home with them from the Bonanza.

Stop by the Junk Corral if you'd like to check them out!

My New Ride is Red and Racey!

Check out my new ride, do you like? I got it at an auction a few weeks ago and thought I would share it with you. Right now it is at my sister's house, TEMPORARILY, cause she stole it out of my truck when I came by to show her, besides it goes with all the cool stuff she has in her yard.

It has a really cool basket, a light for those early morning rides checking for junk on the curb, a checker board seat, and red pedals. What more could a girl ask for in a red bike?

Gold Rush Days or Bust!!!!

This past weekend I was invited to go to Oronoco, Minnesota to join Ki and some of the Junk Bonanza posse to help promote the Junk Bonanza and sell some really good junk! So Madison (my daughter) and I loaded up and headed to Oronoco for the big flea market. Boy did we have fun!

This is the trailer, it had to be a small load because I was sharing with the posse, didn't want to end up in junk jail for an overload, so I had to be conservative.....

The truck loaded and ready to hit the trail to one of the biggest flea markets in the midwest....

License plate letters were a hit!!

Meet Jane and Sara, they met me there, we worked our tails off getting the booth set up, of course, it was raining about the time we started setting up, but being devoted junkers the show must go on....
Junk.... my favorite word....

Sara and Madison smiling and greeting the customers. The temperature was almost 100 degrees on Friday, we felt like boiled lobsters when we got done that day, but the crowd was great, people were buying and we were passing the word about the Junk Bonanza as fast as we could hand out the cards....

Check out these very cool bingo cards, each one has a different advertisers name on it, all from Sioux City, Iowa........

Believe it or not, after I traveled 350 miles I seen two people I knew from Nebraska, so I went over to shop at their space and found some things, this wire fencing being one of them. Do you like?

I love these old vinyl chairs with no arms, and the color of this one was fabulous, which meant it had to go home with ME.......

Old street signs with some really cool names on them, you will have to stop over to my booth at the Bonanza if you'd like to see the others......

Barbels, barbels, and more barbels!!!!! I love these to use a s paper weights. 1 pound, 3 pound and 5 pound, for those really big piles, like the ones in my office right now....

Locker baskets.......

An old metal and galvanized cream separator, makes a great place to put ice and pop!

Love the label on this old ice cream freezer, I think you could still use this to make ice cream, the instructions are still inside.

Can you see a little child riding around in this? How adorable, but I think some pumpkins and fall gourds would look pretty cool in here too.

Ice Pal, I'm told this was used when you went ice fishing, it has runners so you could pull it behind you on the ice. What could this be used for?

Antlers.....

Handles.... maybe for towel holders?

Pulleys.... love the one with the star on it......

It was great fun, I met some new people, and made some new friends. Thanks Ki for inviting me, it was fabulous. Sign me up for next year!

All the things in the photos will be going to the Junk Bonanza in September, so don't forget to stop by and check it out. 30 days and counting...... start packing NOW.

Found Some Great Things At Bonduel, Wisconsin~

This was the first thing I saw when we arrived at Bonduel, Wisconsin. There were no signs of "junk" as we drove into the city but things were about to change. A few blocks into the city there it was.... a weary traveling junkers paradise. The brakes on the truck suddenly made the truck come to a screeching halt!

And the next best thing was that the sign said OPEN!!!

As we got closer you can see that it looked like any whole hearted junker would have to make the stop without driving by......

Antiques and more !!!!!!! and more..... and more....

These cool galvanized nail bins were one of the first things I spotted as I went up to the side door of the shop. After eyeballing them I was sure we could fit them on the truck, I'm not sure if it was could fit or would make them fit.

I love old radios, this one was especially cute and in excellent shape....

I have a thing for old cast iron school bells but the price on those babies are usually out of my range.......

Any chair projects??? They had the corner on the market.....

The guard dog who was happy to see every visitor, he had to come and greet me and the fam....

Love old bicycles too, this was a fabulous Schwinn, check out the emblem......

Thought this was quite unusual, have never seen one of these and it was authentic.....

My husband and sons calculating how all 16 of those nail bins were going to fit in the truck....

Jack decided to be an observer and stay out of the packing process and be a innocent bystander......

One last shot of the Schwinn......

We managed to get all the nail bins in the truck and tied down, we even made it home with out even losing a single one. They are such good packers!

By the time we arrived home after driving 2,140 miles, the truck went through several processes of full and empty. Full when we left home, empty when we left Minneapolis, half full when we left the "Soo", full when we left Bonduel, half full when we left Minnetonka, and full again when we arrived home that night. Wow! can you believe we changed our load that many times?......... Neither could my husband.

Now for all the powerwashing......

2,140 Miles To Michigan and Back Again

Last week we took a little trip to the upper peninsula of Michigan to Salute Saint Marie, Michigan. The two youngest kids flew from Sioux City to the Soo to stay with their great Uncle James and attend a dance camp and recreational camp through LSSU university where Uncle James teaches, so we drove up to pick them up.

Here they are standing in Lake Superior, the water is about 40 degrees and is like standing in ice water.

Maddy had to perform on the last day of camp in the CATS production.

Jack picked up a bucket full of rocks from the beach. It is pretty amazing, all the rocks are smooth and range from pebbles to a loaf of small bread.

Jack and Uncle James heading to the beach.....

I love this photo of him and the kids, it has that old fashion element but with color......

Jack at the falls we stopped to see, this is close to Paradise, Michigan where you must stop at the Berry Patch where you can get the best homemade foods and pies.

The fam on the Soo Locks boat tour.....

Me and the kids......

Tune in for the next post to see some of the places we discovered on the trip home!!
