Holiday Project Number 2 ---- Spindle Tree -- Oh So Cute!!!

I picked up these adorable wheels with the greatest turq patina, then later found these spindles in yet another place. I have been saving them for this project for quite sometime now.

I got the inspiration for this project from Ki's blog over at Junk Camp about a year ago right before the holidays. She had posted a tree that a friend of hers had made, I loved it and have been thinking about it ever since........

This is what I started with, I "married" these wheels to the spindles to create one piece....

Made some curly, twisty wire branches with a small loop on the end, drilled some tiny holes for the wire to fit in.......

Placed some of those favorite old mercury ornaments to the ends of the branches.....

And soon my vision was coming to life.....

Little by little I was getting more and more excited......

Don't forget the star for the top, the last finishing touch....

And tahdah!!! Here it is.... the spindle tree I have been dreaming about for a year!

Until next time.... Cammie(:

The Milkhouse...

For months I have been seeing an ad in the newspaper about a place called "The Milkhouse". My neighbor had been there yet I had not visited the place so Saturday we had to go to Norfolk, Nebraska and decided we were going to find The Milkhouse!

These are the proud owners of The Milkhouse, meet Connie, Bruce and Augie Zimmerman. They have built this place with their own hands and years of salvaging old barn wood, woodwork, and flooring, building it one room at a time. You have to see this place in person to really appreciate all the sweat that has been put into it.

The sign is made out of an old door, you can still see where the hinges were attached...

The front porch all decked out for the season...

Then there is the inside, this place is loaded with Christmas decor!

And more decor...

Snowmen and santas everywhere.....

A Merry Christmas stocking.....

A rusty old star for the top of your tree and more.....

We stayed awhile and it was starting to get dark before we left so we took one more shot as we left. Just says come on in doesn't it. Connie and Bruce have Holiday Hours now thru Christmas. They are as follows:

The Holiday Open House - December 3, 4, and 5, 2009 - 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Tuesday - Saturday - 12 p.m. - 5 p.m.

Now open Sunday's until Christmas - 1 p.m. - 4 p.m.

She also has a website @ milkhousenebraska.com

Phone number is: 402-675-7765

From Norfolk, 7 miles N. of 275/121 Spur, 2 1/2 miles West

Be sure a make a visit before the holidays, Connie, Bruce and Augie, who happens to be a puppy of only 8 months old, will make you feel welcome, it's a must stop shop!!
