Have You Checked Out The New "100 ideas Flea Market Style" magazine?

I went to HyVee with my husband last Friday, we call him Chef Emeril, he loves to cook, which is perfect for me, that gives me more time for junking. I had heard of the new magazines people are talking about on the Junk Revolution message boards, so I had to check it out.

Does anyone recognize these pictures? If you have been a follower of Ki since the beginning you would have noticed that there are a tons of pictures that came out of Ki's magazine published in 2006. Pages 34 -39 are totally from the magazine that she had published.

If you were fortunate to have gotten your hands on the 2006 magazine I'm sure you still have it and refer to it often, if you didn't get it you are missing out. Wouldn't it be great to have Ki publish another magazine? I do have to say that the choices out there right now are very slim picking.

Idea number 29-37, 60, 65, 78, 79, and 99 are all projects of Ki's. I like the magazine, especially since it has cool stuff created by the junking queen. Get a copy of your own and check it out soon.

Here's What We Did After Dinner on Sunday....

After dinner on Sunday we decided to go out and try out the new camera we purchased. We live by an old minimum maintenance road, for those of you who don't live in the boonies, we have many roads that are just old dirt roads and the trees grow on both sides of the road, its more natural. They don't maintain these roads because no one lives on them. There also happens to be an old farmstead on that road, its a great place to get some cool photos, so we went there to see what we could create.

These are my nieces and my two kids on this great old road. It has an incline so you can get some great photos with the sky in the background.

As you can see it is very wooded on the sides of the road, another great place for photos.

This is the old farmstead, the front porch has this great patina of old chippy paint. No one has lived here long before we moved into the area, which was nearly 20 years ago. My son had his senior pictures taken here too. It's like an outdoor studio for photographers.

The old front door of the house is missing the glass and the vanish but looks great for a photo. I do know the history of the house, I walk on this road and last fall there were some people on the road taking pictures of the house so I stopped to talk to them. The man used to live there and he brought out his kids to see where their grandma and grandpa lived. I love old farms places, many farmers are destroying these old places to create more farm land. Imagine the stories that this old place could tell if it could talk. Keep in mind this house does not have a bathroom!

We also found an old windmill. The girls climbed it, only 3-4 steps, not to the top.

Then we had to end the day with a few jumps on the jumpoline as my grandson calls it.

That was part of our day, of course we hide 350 Easter eggs, we had the little kid Easter egg hunt, with candy in them. We also had the big kid Easter egg hunt, which had money in them. Lots of good food, family, and memories made.... Hope you all had a great time with your family and friends too.

Check out this really cute Easter egg tree. Even the lights are little Easter eggs! I went to pick up my daughter from her friends house, this was the tree her mom had put up for the grandkids. Looks festive!

Snow, Snow Go Away

Here is the scene I woke up to this morning. I see all of you talking about spring, pictures of your flowers popping up, things starting to bloom, and here is what we are still looking at... global warming???? how about ice age....

The chicks and ducks are in but it still to cold to take them home.

The snow blew from the north, people living in the country will be without power at least two - three days. It was very heavy, wet snow.

If you are where it is green and turning into spring, ENJOY!~ Until our snow melts we will just wait for spring to spring here.

Holy Trinity Rummage Sale

It's time for the rummage sales to start in Nebraska! Holy Trinity has their bi-annual rummage sale every spring and fall in Hartington, Nebraska. I forgot all about until I drove by and saw the sign and of course I had to make an immediate right turn!! People were already lined up and ready to go, so all I could do was head towards the door.

This is the old Skylon Ballroom that was moved into town from about 10 miles away from town, now it is the site of many kinds of gatherings from weddings, dances, auction, roller skating, and rummage sales.

Check out the shape of the building, it's kind of unusual.

This was the first thing I saw when I entered the building, a cool old dress form, I headed start towards it, but it was already sold. Darn, missed that one.

Meet Judy and Denelda, they are some of the driving forces behind the rummage sale. If you have questions about antique items, Judy is the go to gal.

This is made entirely from old cans, wow, that looks like lots of work, but it's kind of pretty?

These old tray's were only 50 cents each, there were 8 of them and they are in excellent shape. Gotta have those!

This is made of old magazine pages, I have been seeing lots of things popping up made out of old cards, magazine, and discarded paper items. Oh, just 25 cents.

I looked at these, this is old strapping for the old style of lawn chairs, what could these be used for? Colors are kind of fun ...... maybe straps on a garden tote?

Negotiations? Bargaining ? Looks serious....

These are old meat grinders, kind of an unusual group of three, the one is in mint condition, maybe a centerpiece for flowers? Got these, $1...
Maybe a project for later....

These are one of my most favorite purchases. Won't these be great for clipping pictures? 49 of them in the box!

Oh, and guess who I ran into at the rummage sale, Dorothy and Jo, from Randolph, Nebraska. They are some of Ki's followers at Junk Revolution. They wanted to know if the Bonanza was happening again this year, and of course it is. They said they would be there and tell Ki hello! So .... Ki... Hello from Jo and Dorothy!

It was a good day of rummage sale shopping, got lots more things, they may be showing up on the "Garage Sale Sunday" sale. Check it out on Sunday! Have a good weekend.
